Bought this lens from dpreview birder who'd sent it to Sigma to, for $300, have focusing brought up to Canikon standards, and, now 88 year old was finding it too much. It is a hand -arm!-ful!

The Sandhill Cranes which tend to be my only sustained bird-shooting have been late, so I've been shooting other things, to be pleasantly surprised to find that my particular copy is also a terrific lens with great colour and good bokay.

Just took the first Cranes-in-flight shots, and will be processing them shortly.  Did seem to track focus well but is tricky to keep in focus.
