As a birder, I thought I'd miss the Burst Mode that's in my SX50 but not my SX60. But I don't miss it at all.

The SX50 usually delivered up to 13 shots per second in burst mode but was then out of commission for a few seconds while the batch of images wrote to the card. So if a bird were perched on a branch for 4 seconds, the SX50 would only deliver about 13 shots within those 4 seconds. With the SX60 in continuous mode at 4 or 6 shots per second, I get a total of about 16 to 24 shots of the bird during those 4 seconds before the shooting rate tends to slow down as the number of images being written to the card increases.

I also really like the control over exposure in the SX60 continuous mode that Don_Campbell mentions.

Hi Dennis,

Great point! For me, waiting for interesting action can be many minutes to an hour. Then it's so annoying to think the bird has started and to trigger a burst only to have the interesting action to start a second and a half later while you're busy waiting for the images to transfer to the memory card. Also, the ability to control exposure seems huge to me.

Happy shooting and post some shots when you feel ready to do so,

Don
