Will you be getting the 40-150 for wildlife? Or to have an all-round telephoto?

I guess the prime vs zoom argument has finally reared it's ugly head in my own lens decisions...

While primarily a 'prime' shooter the 40-150 has my interest piqued. Currently I carry around the 17 1.8, 45 1.8 and 75 1.8 with a manual focus lens for anything over 150mm eqv. for shooting birds and other wild life. Since buying the 75 1.8 I never use the 45 1.8, spare the rare landscape shot where that's the framing I want. Couple that with carrying around a 800-1000 gram manual lens and my kit feels slightly overburdened.

Seems to me like the 40-150 would be the perfect lens to assimilate my telephoto lenses into a single package should I sell the 45 1.8. The 75-300 seems like a great lens for the price, but then I would have to carry around the 45 1.8 and leave the 75 1.8 at home... not ideal with how I shoot now. While the 40-150 doesn't have near the same reach as the 75-300, it's 2x-3x the reach of the 75 1.8 and would cover 40mm too! Add in that build quality and great close focus distance it seems well worth the price. Also wouldn't feel so bad about leaving the 75 1.8 at home considering I could take great portraits at a focal length I prefer.

Who here is going to get the 40-150 for similar reasons or to replace the 50-200? Does it sound like a lens good enough to be an 'all-in-one' style telephoto? I'm still debating weather or not to just get the 50-200 since it's still awesome and soooo much cheaper, albeit heavier by a few hundred grams.
