Ouch. Yeah pretty dramatic diff. here. One could call it strange processing or what ever - but honestly, to me this looks like plain ol' detail loss from noise reduction. Are there any noise reduction settings on the G7X? (I suspect you can't turn it off ?)

EDIT: Just checked the manual.
"You can choose from 3 levels of noise reduction: [Standard], {High], [Low]. This function is especially effective at high ISO speeds." This suggests that lower ISO speeds are also affected but to a lesser degree. Wonder if it would make any difference.

Just ran the RAW file through DPP where I turned off NR then tansfered to PS (for cropping) and saved it. No sharpening or anything done in PS - Much better:
