Re: Canon SX60 ~ How do you set a custom startup image?

Yes, the startup image is by default a display of the word "Canon" and on the SX50 there were two choices of which Canon logo you liked better. However, you could replace the second Canon logo image with any picture you wanted, and then your custom picture would show for a second or two. It's a splash-screen, really. And trading your preferred startup photo has been possible for years, going back to smaller Canon PowerShots such as the SX200is.

Of course you had to rename your preferred photo to fit in with Canon's system.

The startup picture ended up in the camera's resident memory. You could wipe your own SD card or replace it with any other card, and your custom picture would still show for that moment or two as the camera came to life.

Canon did not seem to have any objections, as the option remains to show or not to show a startup image at all.
