Well 3eCheval, you have gone straight in as a new member of my Platinum Club. It normally takes lots of compliments from a new poster to achieve that status but this sort of flattery opens doors.Well, to me this is photography : except for some of the skies that were interesting in themselves, each scene could have been ordinary, but they have been shot in a certain way, and a series of decisions were made and aesthetic choices that made them photography. What I like about them is that they have a particular quality in common : they could all be the opening shot of a movie - they are powerful enough that they tell a story in one glance.
I didn't change the crop (at least not intentionally) I downloaded your OOC image and just left the crop unchanged. I processed the picture as if I hadn't seen yours - I was curious to see the difference. So much of this is just personal taste and preference and there is no single right answer. I thought you'd enjoy seeing a slightly different 'take'.I opened them side by side on two monitors. The things I mostly notice is that you have muted the colors even more than my rework. You didn't crop as much as I did. And you lightened up the foreground.I had a play with the OOC and thought you'd like to see the result!
A question I need to understand the answer to:
Doesn't lightening the foreground bring the viewers eye down to that corner which is not where you --

I haven't tried this on a plane window, but I have used it when shooting through other windows to block reflections.

It's come in handy for hotel windows and observatories. It might be easier than using pillows and blankets.
I have a night flight coming up next month, so I think I'll give this a try.

And, of course, I did. I just ask questions to better understand what you are trying to show me.I didn't change the crop (at least not intentionally) I downloaded your OOC image and just left the crop unchanged. O.K. Thanks for the clarification.I think the problem is you've lowered the blacks too much. That, coupled with the increase in the clarity slider has resulted in what in what I called 'too contrasty'. It's a landscape full of colour and contrast already and that black slider is way too far to the left for my taste.

I guess the bread achieved the goal of attracting birds, but I don't think the bread enhances the images.
Some of those birds look like sparrows, but what kind of bird was the first with the yellow coloring?
Michael
You deserve an award for patience Wolfie. And another for the highest number of sparrow pictures in a single post![]()
Nice.
