PART 2 - *** This Week Through YOUR m4/3 2014.10.04 *** PART 2

Some interesting stuff in here. Some comments below on the ones I think are best from this set. I think some more care with composition is called for :-)
Those small flowers attract all sorts of unusual visitors. This is OOC, just cropped. The E-M1 sometimes gives almost painterly results.
Unusual flowers and they make for a nice picture. I think you could have done better with the framing though as you've chopped some of the flowers at the edges of the frame - shame. Maybe better to consider whether to take a wider shot if that's possible.
You are plenty right. Those were far inside a bush so much that I had to hand hold at arm's length with the e-m1 and 12-40 f2.8. This comes from the best framed shot I could get. Even then the rightmost flower was already cropped. The rest was fine but awkward looking. I tried to save it by cropping even closer but always felt that it was all too daring. So, yes, I should be more patient and take all the step to get the best composed, best lighted and sharpest photos. As Bob noted, my photos are all over the place. I don't know why I have that nervous style. It always seems that there are too many opportunities around for what I can do.
Again - a potentially very good shot which just misses it by being shot/cropped too tightly. Theres nice symmetry everywhere in this - the pianos, the pianists and page turners and the audience top and bottom. Were you using a zoom with a wider focal length.
Yes, I could have framed wider, indeed I did: here cropped using the Golden Ratio. Since I sat at the side I had part of the right balcony in the shot, hence the tight framing at 3:2 ratio in the first version to take it out of the photo.

compared to... Next time I'll sit dead centre.

As for the others - watch your framing. The line is goodbut the stuff either side needs to support it not fight with it.
Right. I really need to make sure that my shot encompasses all that I need for a complete composition.

Many thanks Yaelle. I come back with photos that will take into account all your considered comments.

I am not sure what you are trying to do with these. It would appear that there is still a loss of detail in the composites that would likely be available in a single image. I could be mistaken though! It appears that the trees in the lower left are very soft. This could be from the merging of the images. You should check these against a single image that has light in this area to see how they compare.

From the most recent image you posted there is still some slight haloing that is somewhat masked by the brighter sky. I made some changes using LR and PSP using the brush tool, gradient filter in LR and local tone mapping and fill in PSP. It likely doesn't look like what you saw and it is still marred by the halos, more visible here against the darker sky, and the overall softness in the details likely from the merge. I have not tried merged images so I really can not assist with this but I suspect the merging is the cause of the softness in areas.

On this one I received some conflicting feedback so I tried some stuff. Again please let me know how I've addressed the halo/soft detail issue. Also, do you like it better lighter than the first? Too light now? Thanks. First is new. Second is original.

Bob, I put in a space but I think dpr strips it out??

Ummm....some kind of mushroom?

I enjoyed those. You got some really nice action shots there. It's a pity that you didn't get all of the horse in the last.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Thanks for that observation. Obviously I'm not yet very good at seeing this stuff.

I'm going to do that.

O.K. Important to know.

It's a bit more yellow than it actually was.

The thread will be filling up very soon so I likely won't be back with more on this. I really appreciate your help (and the multiple others). And PLEASE do not hesitate to harp on these issues if I post future photos with the same problems. It doesn't mean I'm ignoring the feedback. It means I'm a dingbat. :-P
