the compact DSLR for any pocket

Does everything it said on the box; small, very lightweight, compact, fully featured (nearly), as good as or better than most compacts or minis but with all the advantages of a DSLR - extremely fast response time, incomparable range of optics for all conditions and projects, built-in non-electronic viewfinder.

Strengths: usable even with larger hands and fat fingers (try it, don't believe what you read as its a very personal thing as to how/what controls you find comfortable): excellent intuitive menus, addictive touch screen control (as good as the best smartphones), go-anywhere weight and size (especially with new EF-S 28mm/f2.8 STM lens!), superb picture quality (better than my 60D for contrast, colour, light balance). Superb video quality, completely different league to previous non hybrid focusing models.

Weaknesses: video rapid focus only works with STM lenses; significantly worse performance (to the point of being unusable indoors) with non-STM lenses; less of an issue for photography (unless shooting sports), small viewfinder with limited coverage area, no external LCD control panel (but largely mitigated by superb back panel touch control)

The ultimate take-anywhere DSLR you will never feel like leaving at home. If you can't live with a smartphone or mini/compact for quality then this is a serious alternative.
