Here's what I would do...

Get 2 cameras, a 5DIII and a 7DII. Get two lenses, a 500mm f/4 and a Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 Sport.

You can do really long distance shooting with the 500 on the 7DII without needing a TC. You can shoot mammals in lower light with the 120-300 on either body.

In my experience (bears, wolves, moose etc…), it's easy to have a lens that is too long, so I would probably have the 120-300 on the 5DIII most of the time, and use the 7DII/500 for smaller stuff and head shots.

That's just my opinion.
