Re: nx200 firmware update went wrong

Contact Samsung repair centre and ask how much it will cost to repair it. They will probably tell you that a mainboard needs to be replaced. In such case, if the cost is prohibitive, you could try to procure another NX200 (e.g. with a cracked screen) and try to replace the mainboard yourself / in a 3rd party repair centre.

Or, if you feel that you have nothing to lose and feel adventurous, please try whether the procedure described below will trigger reflashing. The disclaimer is that the below is a shot in the dark - I'm not sure whether it works (most likely not) and have never tried it myself.

  1. Create a file with a name FWUP in the topmost folder of your memory card. Put the following text inside:
    upgrade all
    keep
  2. Place a BIN file with up-to-date firmware image in the topmost folder of your memory card.
  3. Now place the memory card in your camera (battery has to be fully charged) and turn it on.

If this doesn't work, probably the only way to go is to reflash via JTAG port (I'm not even sure whether JTAG port is present on the PCB.). Or maybe there is a way to prepare a special rescue image with OneNAND Boot Loader? This needs fairly specialised knowledge which I don't have...
