This has to wrongly assume every picture is taken for art sake, and every subject is something that doesn't move, and every photographer has a whole lot of free time. But most importantly it wrongly assumes that just taking more time and complication someone makes for a better product.

Can you suggest a product which is better for having less time and effort spent on it? There is no wrong assumption; Adams may have been talking about the Arty end of photography but apart from a totally fortuitous snapshot surely every photo benefits from some planning and forethought? Even then,  great snapshots have often depended on the photographer making sure he was in the right place at the right time.
