Sold my Nikon D90, looking to get into the Canon system.
2

I mainly shoot landscapes, low-light, and actually been told I cannot take a good portrait by many people (doesn't bother me at all!), so I sold all my gear because I just wasn't feeling as creative with my setup. I've been using my iPhone and instagram more than my DSLR and I thought that buying new gear would definitely get me back in the spirit.

I asked the open forum this the other day but no reply, so I thought I would direct it to the camera system forum I'm considering moving into. Currently, I bought a Fuji X-E2 and I have to say while it is a great camera with an EXCELLENT kit lens, I just cannot see myself buying into the system right now at the price of those primes. I thought about the A6000 but the ergonomics gave me hand cramps... Both are just too expensive with limited lens support. I plan on selling the fuji for one of these two systems.

I sold my D90 basically to cut down on the weight to get into the mirrorless system... and now I am somewhat regretting it. All too late now since I sold my accessories as well:

Nikon 18-105mm
Nikon 35mm 1.8g
Nikon 50mm manual (kept this one)
Nikon 70-300mm AF (non-VR)

Right now after trying out both these next two cameras... I'm trying to decide between these setups:

D5300
Sigma 17-50 F2.8
Nikon 70-300 AF VRII
$1250

Canon t5i
Canon 15-85 F3.5 or Sigma 17-50 F2.8
Canon 55-250
$1250

I guess I love the interface and touch screen of the t5i, image quality looks VERY similar in-store but I cannot just overlook the fact that the Nikon is technically better and updated in every single way. I want the features of the 70d, but the main reason I sold the D90 was to cut down on the weight. The 70d weighs more than my old D90. In real world settings, I would never put my ISO past 1600... so in terms of high ISO its not that big of a deal (at least thats what I feel like after anything above 1600 my D90 sucked!)

So I've been basically going crazy reading through the forums here and the real question is, will I really be disappointed either way? Should I just get a T5i (or even SL1) to get into the Canon system just to start getting the lenses I want and then be ready for the new bodies coming out this winter?

Obviously I'm rushing and want an answer sooner than later because the fall colors here in Wisconsin are just starting to come in ;).

Here is a sample of some of my work that I took with my iPhone:
