New Olympus 40-150 F2.8 looks uber cool

Really liking this 40-150 lens from Olympus. An effective 300mm F2.8 for just over £1200-£1300 ? That's about a quarter of the price that the Canikon guys want for their 300mm F2.8 primes, and even under half the price of the Sigma 120-300 F2.8 zoom. If the quality is as good as being touted (and as good as we know Olympus can produce), it should also be able to compete optically with the 300mm primes (except with respect to DOF of course).

Coupled with the new 1/4 converter (for an effective 420mm F4), this looks like M4/3 will be able to start competing properly in wildlife photography.

Now if Olympus can only launch the 300mm F4 for a similar price (or slightly more) to give an effective 840mm F5.6 (with the 1.4 TC), in my minds eye, the system will be pretty complete.

Would be great though if Olympus could also develop a 2x converter for the F2.8 zoom, to give a 600mm F5.6, I could then dump my consumer 100-300 zoom.

What do you guys think ?
