IMO the Panny 14-42mm power zoom sucks. I absolutely hated the power zoom feature, and my copy just wasn't up to the standards of the other kit zooms. It's also sort of bulky, in a wide-chunky kind of way.

On the other hand, the Panny 12-32mm minizoom is one of my very favorite lenses. I've added the auto-lens cap from the Oly 14-42mmEZ, which works perfectly, and it's an absolute dream. It would be the cat's meow on the PM2, just like it is on the GM1.

The only reason to go for one of the 14-42mm zooms would be if you absolutely, positively had to have more reach than 32mm. But for me--and I'd guess for many shooters--the advantage of having 12-13 mm more than outweighs the disadvantage of having 32-42mm. Maybe you shoot differently.
