Judging "Challenge" photos.

Did not get any response at General Photo Discussion site so I am posting here...

In an effort to improve my photographs I started entering some of my photos in the Challenges of DPreview. I have since won a few accolades from 1st to 99th+ places. Looking back at those photos, I thought of how my Photos where judge by the member's vote. As I have voted myself many times, I began to formulate in my head what criteria I use to judge a photograph.

Here is what I recently came up with:

Subject Relevancy - 33%

Compelling Lighting (includes color if not black and white) - 27%

Endearing Composition - 22%

Camera and lens (and or Film) technique - 18%

I did not take into account how the photograph is displayed - Print or the screen. Not sure if it is really relevant.

How do you judge a photograph as it applies to the Challenge submissions? I am sure this will create different views.

Opinions are welcome.
