IMO at this level of gear everyone is nitpicking. But most nitpicking is just based on opinion, and we know what opinions are like.  Even DxOMark lens testing without a lot of sampling and detail into how they go about testing are not much more than anecdotes to me.  If you are going goo goo gaa gaa over more megapixels and DR, only to have your enthusiasm stamped out by focus breathing, than really the more megapixels and DR simply could not have been a gamechanger just as focus breathing is not a showstopper.  Both are just nitpicks.

The only nitpicking that I really enjoy is Roger's product teardowns and optical testing...because there is so much thought and attention that goes into it that it is less of an opinion, and after reading them I feel like I may have actually learned something.
