X100S owners, will you upgrade?

since I expect it to have the same lens (why would they have to invest into it, it's not a bad lens at all), no way.

I expect the X100T to be a minor overhaul of the X100S (XT-1 focusing speed, better EVF, better battery life). The X100S is already very good and I'm currently not in a GAS-phase (and very happy about that).

I would especially like:

- better sharpness at wide apertures and close range - I hope that the new lens is intended to address this

- better build with weather sealed moniker

AF is already fine for my purposes.

I have an X100. I love it dearly and I am just waiting for a real-world one f-stop increase in sensor speed. Gimme dat and I will not be able to hold back.

I am a happy owner of an X100S, but also having M43 gears the X100S autofocus speed frustrated me sometime. When I heard of the X100T and the subsequent leaked improvements* my first reaction is "I need to save up for this", but now I am less decided.

So far, the rumored changes include
-faster autofocus
-tilt screen
-new lens, very likely 23mm but unknown widest aperture
-larger EVF in place of hybrid VF

While I would very much like to have the improved AF (faster, preferably with face/eye detection) the rest of the changes are not important to me. Doing away with OVF, if true, is a negative point.

I have also learn to live with the X100S autofocus, so while it can certainly be improved it doesn't give me angst like when I just got it.

What is your plan, fellow X100S users?
My X100 still serves me quite well. It does what it needs to do, and it is paid for. No reason to change.

I still use the X100 and I am very happy with the pictures it produces. It is my 23mm lens in my FUJI outfit.

If I spend any money on Fuji, my next purchase will be the Fuji 35mm 1.4 and after that, possibly the PRO 2 - depending what the PRO ends up being. My x E-1 works fine, but a larger body would be helpfull for the lenses I have and plan to have.

I feel Fujifilm tricked us with how great the X100S autofocus was supposed to be.

It is a 23mm lens. Whether it's new, I don't know. But the EXIF date from David Hobby's images he uploaded to Flicker displayed the X100T lens as 23mm.
-larger EVF in place of hybrid VF
The hybrid VF is part of the heart and soul of the X100/S. Fujifilm would shoot themselves in the foot if they remove the OVF.

I and many others never would have purchased the X100/S if it had been EVF only.
What is your plan, fellow X100S users?
It depends on what the real final version has. Rumors are just rumors. I can't base a buying decision off a rumor.

I wouldn't mind more megapixels. But I will not sacrifice image quality for more pixels.

Better autofocus would be nice. But it depends on how much better it actually is compared to the X100S. I feel Fuji hyped the X100S autofocus too much and it was never as good as they led us to believe.

I'd like a tilt screen. Or at least I think I would. But I don't need it. I really don't know if I'd use it much.

I don't know what I'll do.

Faster autofocus is relative. It didn't appear to me that there was hype. Sometimes our expectations exceed the actual capabilities.

It is a good idea to wait for the reviews - I agree wit that.

Faster AF and tiltable screen would be perfect. OVF not needed, would prefer actually better EVF. Almost bought :)

What kind of photography would you shoot with the X100T?

The OVF is valuable to me for street photography and for other moving objects. And I prefer the OVF since it's like a little window to the world as opposed to the EVF which is like having my eye right up to a tv screen. The OVF with the wide 23mm lens is just a more enjoyable experience for me. I feel more connected to my subjects whereas the EVF seems artificial to me. But we all have different needs and wants. :)

I have written down some tips on how to get the best performance out of the Fuji X-AF's. And even though the AF performance has improved over time through FW and hardware upgrades, the basics still apply and can help you in those situations where it's hard to lock the AF.

I second reading Smatty's tips ^^^. They helped me immensely with learning the camera's AF quirks.

I kind of wish Fuji wouldve adopted the same fixed-lens variety with the X100S as Sigma has done with the DP series: one wide, one normal, and one short tele. Or even just a short fixed tele, 75-80mm equiv, F2.8 X100S. That would be bitchin' (and better than my Merrill in low light).

I suspect Fuji, may have decided to up their RF-like camera game with a NEW hybrid OVF/VF that gives you a 27° angle of view (a.k.a. 35mm equiv. FF) BUT with an OVF field of view up from .50x to a whopping .67x which sort of puts in squarely in Leica M240/MM territory. Not too shabby IMHO. No more peep hole viewing.

The flippable (and I'll go out on a limb here to say possibly even touch-screenable) LCD is also a nice touch along with improved AF accuracy (that will no doubt be further augmented from the user's point of view by the increased OVF/VF size).

I also suspect with rumors of a new lens that a new 23mm f1.4 (or even an f1.2) might also be in the cards well.

Now if it initially comes out in Black I'll be ready to deplete my Visa card.

That alone would be enough to get me to upgrade. I love everything else about the camera, and when it focuses right the results are fantastic, but it's just so unreliable. I don't even care so much about the speed. My 8 year old Fuji does a better job choosing where to focus; even my 5-year old's camera can handle it better. It's embarrassing having to explain every time someone borrows it to take a picture, so I've given up and just use my iPhone instead.

I know I'll probably be told it isn't a point-and-shoot, and I knew that when I bought it, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. Honestly, it's 2014 (OK, 2013 when released)... the autofocus selection problem has been solved for a long time now.
