70-200 f/4

Hi guys. I owned the 70-200 f/2.8 vr and found it to be too soft for my liking. I used a 70-200 vr 11 and found it to be fantastic! I am asking if anyone out there has found the f/4 version to be as good a sharp lens as the vr11? I can wear the lost stop if the lenses perform equally as well.
