So, does it really matter? It's annoying not being able to test products in the shop, I can understand, but if you can buy them online and get the photos you need, is it important if everyone else shoots with a different brand?
The disadvantage is that if you get noticed and asked to shoot something (say a concert) there is no way to rent a lens and no one to borrow one. So rather then shooting with the best lens you can you have to shoot with a lesser lens you own.
Nikon Canon, Fuji and Sony all have rental options in North America if you shoot APS-C
for me that is the only thing that is annoying. more shooters would mean more rental options.
Hmmm, that's a good point, I've never tried to rent lenses before, so didn't think of this...
Wouldn't matter a concert I shot recently would have been great with a 50-150 f2.8 or better.. but of course Samsung doesn't have one. But with Macro before I got one, a bunch of friends where having a little photo get together, and shooting all these great macro photos passing various lens back and forth between them.. and I was left using the protomacro ability of the 18-55.
Try turning it around yet? The downsides of by wire lens controls T.T
So there are issues.. but unless you've run into those issues I don't blame you for not thinking of them
