You've made your point. In my opinion it is not a newbie nonsense, though. If the OP needs our opinions on this, I think he wouldn't like to hear from the masters of this craft only, but to receive as many information as possible from forum members' experience that have used (or are still using) both APS-C and FF.

All fine but good advice is always better than bad.
