My own personal experience and opinion of course but, after using compacts, bridge cameras, micro 4/3, DX and FX over my digital lifetime, I know which format I prefer the results of and that's Full Frame.

I've recently traded in an Oly EM-5 for a Nikon D610. The EM-5 produced results very similar to the D7000 it replaced but the images never had the quality - tone, colour, DR, contrast, clarity, etc. that I saw from my D800E.

If that is seen as an unfair comparison it can also be seen as an admittance that there is a difference between DX and FX in terms of image quality as well as many other respects. If there wasn't, there wouldn't be the market there is for full frame cameras.

It all boils down to what floats your bloat.
