Harvo: E-M1, E-P5, E-PL5 movie tele-converter movie effect during video recording

My EM1 does that. You have to activate special effects (Pg 41 in the manual) in video and then pressing F2 divides the screen into 9 rectangles and you can move the green highlighted one around with the 4 way controller and pressing F2 again activates the magnification, F2 returns to normal, center button cancels. You can do this before or during the video.

A million thanks, Harvo! This is not exactly what I was looking for since this is a movie effect (movie tele-converter) which actually records the zoomed-in rectangle into the video as if I used zoom-lens. Nevertheless, this seem to be a cool feature and I could use it effectively for sudden/unexpected situations where I have to adjust the focus plane by turning the focus ring (manually of course) on the lens without breaking (stopping-refocusing-restarting) the recording. I found exactly the same function in the manual of PEN E-P5, too. Brilliant. I hope the video image quality will not drop drastically down to an unusable level. I definitely give it a try.

My award photo to Harvo. Olympus PEN F 150mm on a mirroless camera.

Thank You so much, Miki
