Have you both tried both cleaning the lens and camera mount contacts?
Wipe gently with an old soft cotton handkerchief, one that's lint free. Do not use tissues!

Secondly, inspect the camera body lens contact pins. Are they all at the same length?
Also "exercise" the camera body contacts by pushing them in, then letting them go to pop out as quickly as they can. Do this half a dozen times for each pin. This should loosen them up if they are a bit sticky.
