GX7 LCD Monitor and Tripod Mount

I notice that the GX7 has a 'thin" body, that is short front to back.  Using my standard Manfrotto 200PL  tripod plate, the LCD monitor sits on the rubber cushion of the plate, and I can't move the monitor - that probably means considerable force is being applied to the bottom of the LCD monitor. Probably not great for the articulating mechanism of the monitor.

About the only fixes I've found is to use a very small ARCA type QR plate, or an Induro QR plate - neither of which is much use with my mainstay Manfrotto tripods. I am considering an ARCA adapter  bolted to a 200PL.

Has anyone else considered or fixed this problem differently?
