I walked around a lot of stores in Southampton UK yesterday and talked to staff about the FZ1000. Yes I was the most knowledgeable about the camera, to the point of being champion geek, but no-one showed an understanding of how to sell the camera, except London Camera Exchange with staff who, upon opening the boxed one there, promptly went on to swarm around it and study it down to an atomic level.
Advertising Panasonic! Come on. With the revelation that is the FZ1000, you need to shout out the news beyond the enthusiast forums. Gadget shows and magazines need to receive a serious plug as well. The general public needs to know about this camera.
You could do no ill by lending me one to try out for starters.
The FZ50: DSLR handling of a bright, non-extending Leica 35-420mm F2.8-3.7 lens. Thank you Mr Ichiro Kitao, Mr Michiharu Uematsu and Mr Yoshiyuki Inoue for having triggered the update to the FZ50.
FZ50 is still great though: http://www.juzaphoto.com/recensione.php?l=en&t=panasonic_lumix_fz50 . Performace diagram here: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/3862228415/photos/2623982/fz50-performance-range
