Hello,

With the a5100, Sony announced a new remote control, the RM-SPR1. It is extremely basic: just the shutter button. Despite being listed as compatible with the a5100 only, Sony Asia website mentions "Wide compatibility with multi-terminal". In fact, Adorama describes it as "Sony RM-SPR1 Remote Commander with Multi Terminal, 2.6' Cord" very close to Sony's description for the RM-VPR1: "Remote Control with Multi Terminal Cable".

I don't know how long before I can try this in a shop, so if someone has more information regarding compatibility with recent SLTs, I'm interested.

About time , but it's still more expensive than this one ;

Bought one , works fine , also can be locked on for when shooting in "bulb".
