Re: Nikon wide angle dilemmas… 14-24, 18-35 and filters

Faced this same dilemma and went with the 18-35G which has a 77mm filter thread to match my 24 PC-E, 24-70 and 70-200 2.8. I prefer to use a screw-in polarizer so this is convenient.

I use the 18-35 exclusively at 18mm when I need something wider than my 24 PC-E without shooting a pano and it's so light it feels like a prime.

The 14-24 2.8 is an incredible lens but the deal breaker for me was not being able to use my existing 100mm wide ND and ND grad filters.

I guess if you're building a system from scratch you can buy 150mm filters and use an adapter for the SW150 to work with your other lenses but if you've already invested in a system then it's more money and gear to lug around for one lens, not to mention there is also no Big Stopper in Lee's range larger than 100mm.
