D600/610 vs Df sensor at moderately high ISOs.

Hopefully a simple question on the difference between the Nikon 24 and 16 MP sensors from those that have experience with both.

At 'moderately' high ISOs - say 3,200 to 12,800 is there a significant difference between the two sensors, particularly IRO noise?

Having done some searching on the internet it seems that some reviewers/websites don't see much of a difference in noise between the D600/610, Df (D4S) or even D8X0 models until over 6,400 (or higher) ISOs once down-sampled to say 16 (or 8) MP. However, I notice many 'actual users' swear by the 16 MP sensor at high ISOs. But is this in the range of 3,200 to 12,800 or at much higher ISOs? In other words, what's the 'cut off point' where the 16MP sensor shows it's class?

As for the rest - ergonomics, looks, focussing system - they are not major concerns, just the sensor comparison at this point.

Thanks for your considerations.
