Polarized sunglasses - cannot see screen

I purchased this camera and wondered when I was outside with my polarized sunglasses on, why the camera would not seem to turn on when I pressed the power button. It worked inside.

The I realized that the polarization of the screen was at 90 degrees to my sunglass lens, rendering it black. Rotate the camera 90 degrees and it is bright again.

Perhaps this is a one-off mistake, but it renders this camera unusable outside in the sun. A simple rotation of the LCD would fix this.

I am returning the camera, but will check if this behaviour is the same in the other stock.
