If you have the Olympus 12mm f2.0, plus a 60mm, and don't want any zooms, would you add the Olympus 17mm f1.8 to your kit or would you move further up the line to one of the other primes between 19mm and 45mm?

Hi Bill,

You need a "normal" lens to go with your 12mm and 60mm. The Leica 25mm f/1.4 is a brilliant addition to the pair you have. The M.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 would be my second choice. Third? Probably the Lumix 20mm f/1.7.

Or, better yet, sell your 12mm and buy the 12-40mm f/2.8. There you go, focal length problem solved. OTOH, I wouldnever sell my 12mm f/2.0, so I understand if that's not an option for you. Arguably, the announcement of the 12mm f/2.0 in 2011 was the reason I came to m4/3. I'm not giving up that lens!

Although I used to think that 25mm was a great focal length because it was equivalent to the 50mm prime lens that came with old-school SLRs, I have now come to realize that 17mm is the superior standard focal length to use.
