The Dutch: making land out of water
As you probably know the Netherlands are half under see level. For centuries we have struggled with the (north)sea. As of the sixties we all believed we should be save for the next hundred years but due to the worldwide climate change and the rizing levels of the oceans and seas we must continue to fight against nature. On regular basis we see Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD's) for our coast, these ships provide us with new sand for our dikes and dunes.
This one is at the coast near village Petten.
