FZ1000 at 35mm compared to D600+Sigma 35mm/f1.4 Art

D600 surely is one of the best DSLRs with regard to image quality. Sigma 35mm/1.4 Art is one of the finest lenses ever made. It would seem ridiculous that one would even think about comparing this combination with a bridge camera. But I did it for my own need. I wanted to see how much I would miss if I shoot with FZ1000 instead of D600+Sigma.

First scene. Looking at the center performance.

Now 100% crops from the center after reducing the D600 size to 5472x3648 to match FZ1000 size

What do you think? D600+Sigma is just marginally sharper (although it has color artifacts).

Another scene.

100% crops

Look at the detail of the grass and the trees.

Another scene.

100% crops near the center.

100% crops from right lower corner.

So, we see that near the center at 35mm FZ1000 is nearly as good as one of the best combinations of DSLR+lens currently available (this is amazing) and moving away from the center it's performance is not as good (this is expected).

FZ1000 is just an amazing camera.
