shooting into the light

I currently use the 55-200VR on D7000 for photographing people. I want a lens with a bigger aperture and have been thinking of the Sigma 50-150OS. I like to shoot into the light and have heard some bad things about the Sigma in this regard. I have read that the 80-200AFS is good (I would miss the 50-80) and also the Tamron 60 (I would much prefer a zoom). Does anyone have any recommendations or reassurance about the Sigma. Thanks in advance.
