The unique birdlife of Runde, Norway
6

Runde is an island in the community of Herøy situated out in the rough sea at the west coast of Norway. The island is connected to the mainland with several bridges linked.

The little island has only got 150 regular inhabitants, but from February to August every year, more than 500.000 birds come to Runde for the nesting season. Around 80 species have been proved nesting here, and more than 230 species have been observed in total. Runde is the essence of a bird mountain.

The best time of visiting Runde for birdlife will be midsummer, we had to go there early august, but still managed to see some amazing birdlife…
