Leica S / 120 macro samples
Went to the Leica store opening in SFO earlier today, this was my first time actually taking the S out for a test drive, and whew!, quite a machine I must say. The whole setup is manageable handheld, and yields results which are as sharp if not sharper than my D800E plus Zeiss 100 f2 macro. It's simply way too detailed for portraits (ok, maybe not if you blow it up to a bus-sized poster), but of course immensely useful in landscape photography, street and whatnot. Bokeh is very pleasant (="creamy") at f2.8, which does help. The S hunts a bit in low-ish light I thought, but once outside, it was quick and responsive (in-studio I guess AF speed plays a minor role anyway).
Couple of samples (more under the link above)
All files processed in Lightroom 5.5.
Thanks for the interest. Questions welcome (I'm no S specialist, though!)
