First Tries with 1.4X AW TC + Pentax 60-250

We arrived at this wetland early in the morning but found there was no way to get over to the eastern side and have the sun at our back.  So we were fighting back-lit conditions all morning.  So that is a lesson learned for the next trip to this spot - go in the late afternoon.  I still think I have some shots that show the bokeh at f/5.6 with the TC is just as good as that at f/4 without.  Also the combo is still quite sharp.  All of these images were taken at 350mm and wide open at f/5.6 with the exception of the Teasel which was at 214mm.

Kingbird on top of tree as usual.

bokeh at f/5.6 350mm

Some folks get their feathers ruffled if one tries to take their picture - Green Heron with crest flared - but heavily back lit requiring about 2 Ev push

Teasel - bokeh at 214mm

Hover Fly on tiny blue flower at 350mm

Kids would call this Ink Berry.

Queen Anne Lace

Bull Thistle

Butterfly in flower

Tank you for looking.
