Split prism focus aid works best with large aperture lenses.  With smaller maximum apertures of f/4 to f/5.6 the split prism tends to go dark and may not be usable.

2. regaring the focussing lights. ... if the lights are not illumination only sound and green-dot is a reference and i still dont know where it is focussing.

You can still manually select the active focus sensor instead of leaving the camera set to auto selection.

i cannot imagine that with this little split-screen-center-area(compared to SLR) i can properly focus without a right-angle-3.5x viewfinder.

?  Not sure why you want to bother with a right angle viewer instead of using the 1000D's Live View and 5x/10x magnification for focusing.
