S-HI (Super High Resolution mode) really does work very well. I just tried yesterday (or was it the day before?) it on the old barn image. It worked better for me than exporting a 16 bit TIFF to GIMP and upscaling to the same size using LoHalo (rather than Cubic). I used SPP 6.0.5 for that "test."

Interesting, although I am a fan of having RAW masters, and not a fan of TIFF. However, I may change my mind after more experience with reputed-to-be very slooooow SPP.

As you might already know, I posted both in the DP2 Quattro vs. Nikon D810 thread here .

Updated above with link.

I'll definitely try to find time to read that thread.

My goal with the DP2-Quattro 5 day trial (extended ... thx Sigma) is to compare to my Canon 6d full-frame with primes. The Q needs to significantly outperform the 6d on A3+ 13x19" prints (and larger) to justify the expense. Otherwise, this retired hobby'ist will not be in a good position to answer wife's (aka 'the Hun') question of "why bother?"
