Good Copies, Bad Copies, How to test new lens for Sharpness ?

hi, after readings lots of threads in this forum, i get the idea that same exact lens doesn't really means same shaprness, there are "good" and "bad" copies around.

i just bought a Sony A6000 + Kit lens 16-50 PZ and i also bought the 55-210.

and i have the 18-55 + 16f2.8 from my previous NEX-5

so far i never really pixel peeps the sharpness from my lenses.

but now after readings , I'm kind of curious, cause i want to sell either the 16-50 or the 18-55 , or maybe even sell them both for the 16-70

anyway i'm curious, how to check for my lenses sharpness ? some easy test that i can do on my own in my home ?

i remembered back in the days when i'm using canon, i did test lenses and camera for back or front focusing using the 3 batteries that are diagonally arranged.

should i did this too ?

thank you so much.
