made in Japan FA Limited lenses?
Forum member brecklundin mentioned in another thread that old made in Japan versions of the FA Limited lenses have some different qualities than later models. I have been wanting the 43mm for a long time (currently trying to balance it against my desire for the DA*55mm) and since I would be buying the lens used anyway, I was wondering if it is generally considered to be worth the effort to find one that was made in Japan. If so, how would one do so? I kind of have my eye on a silver one, if that makes any difference.
From what I know, the late production FA Limiteds either from Vietnam or Japan does not have much of a difference except for the very early MIJ batches that has a lead element and those are that ones you should look for. I read it somewhere here but could not find it anymore.
There is no such thing a "Pro" level gear, just Pro level work.
