request for advice on upgrading from my Nikon D3100
I have the following:
AF-S 18-55 (APS-C) 3.5-5.6G kit lens
nikon 50mm (full frame) that goes down to F1.8
nikon AF 70-300 (full frame) 4-5.6D
I got the prime to play with and learn, the telephoto zoom was a mistake as it doesn't autofocus on my d3100 and I now understand how desirable that would be having taken photos at a sporting event (I ended up switching to the kit lens).
I'm looking at either a d7100 or a d610, and to get a superzoom lens from nikon, tamron or sigma, and maybe get the newer, automatic version of the 50mm prime so I don't miss opportunities due to fiddling with the focus and getting the exposure right.
My understanding is that the full frame sensor of the d610 will gather more light and would allow me to get deeper depth of field.
If i get the d7100 I have money I could spend on lenses or other equipment.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on this and any input on the superzoom idea.
Many thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your feedback.
