209,000 jobs created in July in the US

"Nonfarm jobs increased 209,000 last month after surging by 298,000 in June, the Labor Department said on Friday.

July marked the sixth straight month that employment has expanded by more than 200,000 jobs, a stretch last seen in 1997 and creating more than 1,200,000 new jobs.

Services industries employment added 140,000 positions, manufacturing 28,000 jobs, construction jobs advanced for the seventh consecutive month to 22,000 while government employment increased by 11,000 jobs"...so these jobs being created are not all low wage jobs.

Data for May and June were revised upward to show a total of 15,000 more jobs created than previously reported, showing underlying momentum."

The private sector is generating jobs as the economy recovers.

Politfact.com states: "Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that in January 2009, when Obama was sworn in, the country lost 818,000 jobs (in one month)."
