The flower appears burnt because there just not enough dynamic range in this particular situation. You have to decide whether to properly expose the butterfly or the flower. You can use P.S. but it will reach the limit in no time. I think sometimes, washed out or over - exposed is desirable.

uhm... it does not look like a dramatic DR request, probably underexposing and then recovering the shadows in post would help.

I don't know if you tried but if you got this in raw maybe you can get something back.
