Tabletop tripod recommendations

Hi All,

Currently looking for a small tripod for my travel, basically to take night time pictures and video. So stability, panning and preferably QR plate are important for me.   I already have the manfrotto 190xprob with 496rc2 which is compact enough for dedicated photo outings but not ideal while traveling with family.

So I am looking at tabletop tripods only for these occassions. The camera and lens I have are fairly light (T3i + Sigma 17-50 is my heaviest, EOS-M+22 is my lightest).

I did some research and found the following.

Manfrotto 709b - Very nice, light weight, but no QR plate, that's the only disadvantage

Slik Mini-pro V - Inexpensive, but no QR plate, heard that pan handle is awkward.

Slik Min-Pro DQ Inexpensive, has QR plate but no panning (that's an important feature for me!).

Any ideas? Is not having QR plate a big deal during travel? Also, any other recommendations?

Thanks,

-maadfw
