Misconceptions

You've a couple of misconceptions :

Well, I have a T5i with an 18-55 and 50mm 1.8, not exactly amazing, but enough for me.

Actually it is pretty amazing. If you can't take a good photo with that equipment, the problem is you.

So upgrade your skills, forget about new equipment.

My problem is, I'm travelling to italy in a few months and wanted to bring a camera to record the memory of such an iconic event.

This is your second misconception.

Your visit to Italy is not iconic. It might be important to you, but to be iconic it has to be important to a lot more people.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Could anyone suggest what I could get? Mirrorless, old dslr, film slr idc! Thanks for the help!

Book on photographic technique ?

Maybe the 18-135 another poster suggested if you want a little more reach.

Spare batteries ?

Travel insurance ?
