For those who also have a D610, please feed back on highlight recovery
I just purchased a Nikon D610. I shot with Canon before, but had to sell my gear and because I had no more Canon gear left, decided to make a fresh start and try Nikon. I hope this was not a mistake. While, granted, I love the general operation of the Nikon, one issue I have is with highlight recovery. What I loved about my 5D Mark II were the smooth transitions to highlights and the great headroom for highlight recovery (as opposed to shadows). With the Nikon D610, it appears the opposite. As indicated in Reviews as well, the Nikon tends to Clip Highlights more easily. Underexposing does not seem to help a lot, as as the bright areas, like sky, still look somewhat cartoonish.
Does anybody else have this experience and what have they done about it? I can unfortunately not exchange my camera.
