Philippe R.,

I spent 5 days in DC last year. There is a ton of things to photograph there. If traveling with family you'll have to get up early in the morning so that you can shoot without them complaining about you constant search for the best composition. Here's my gallery of DC shots. Many of the things I wanted to photograph were covered in scaffolding: interior of the cathedral, the Wash Mon, inside the Train station, the Supreme Court, the Treasury. I went in May so I guess the repairs were being done then for the upcoming summer vacations...so hopefully you won't encounter that.

I had a memorable burger at Fuddruckers where I think they'll do a good Club Sandwich

Enjoy,

Philippe M.
