Color differences between manual mode and automatic?

Hi, during a walk today I saw some moss on top of a train bridge nicely reflecting the sun. With M-Mode I could only get something that looked too dark greenish. The same happened in P-Mode. Just out of curiosity I switched to A-Mode and got colors that looked like the impression I had of the scene in my eyes.

Here are the two images, both shot with Canon 600D, Canon 55-250mm IS II, settings: 250mm, 1/60, f5.6, ISO 400.

Manual mode

Automatic mode

Can anyone explain to me where the color differences come from? I shot RAW+L as quality setting. The picture from manual mode is the JPEG from the camera. Can I still correct the colors with DPP and the RAW files (I'm totally new to shooting RAW)?

EDIT: forgot that in automatic mode flash was firing, could that also make a difference?
