Well sure -- but a constant f2.8 zoom is mighty expensive for those of us who are just hobbyists as well as mighty big. When I'm shooting sports action with my 40-150mm f4-5.6 Olympus lens, and the light starts to get dim, one extra stop of light at the telephoto end could be the difference between getting the shot and not getting the shot. I can only dial the ISO up so much while still maintaining enough shutter speed to expose the image properly. Two stops would be even better, but one would be great progress. Maybe an f2.8-f4 zoom?
