Just curious: 12mp APS-C sized A6000s 4k Monster - Anybody?

Noticed this rather silent thread:

but the OP made a number of relevant points:

  1. 12Mp, rather than 16Mp, makes a) the camera perform better and b) makes the camera less of a thread to the A7s
  2. 4k on an APS-C crop sensor makes sense for reach and lens availability
  3. Sony can bolster is market position rather inexpensively

Who would consider such a camera, rather than the A7S.

I assume that this camera will have a very similar high-ISO curve as the A7S, just falling one stop below this. This means that it will outperform the A6000 and ALSO the A7/r cameras for low light.

Assume such an A6000S camera to cost no more than 25% additional, ie. a $850 body with 12Mp, 4k video and stellar (for APS-C) low light performance.

Who would consider such an alternative?

I love the concept, Sony should bring it to market, but it is not for me.

This will be my next low light/travel camera. When can I get it?

Yes, I need a snappy camera for low light action. I don't print big anyways.

Yet another camera body? There are too many already, this one simply adds too little.

Why using APS-C for low light? Please give me FF!

12Mp? Neah, I can't go that low (anymore)...

No way it will work. A regular Nex-6 was already only 16Mp, why would 12Mp be better?

BSI, BSI? Can we just wait for that? (and the curved sensors)

Maybe a good idea for video. Oh what? Video is already covered (handycams)!
